Description

The Tokaj 3 puttonyos from the Macík winery is made from native wine and from overripe grapes with selected botrytis raisins, which we know as “cibebas“.

Do you know what it actually means to say that we are drinking 3 puttonyos Tokaj? This is the actual number of doughs filled with cibebas, which are poured into a barrel, mechanically trampled or crushed while being drizzled with native wine. The “putna” has a content of 22 to 25 kg of cibebas and the amount of wine to which it is poured is a historical 136 l from a barrel marked “Gönc”.

After a maceration of cibebas in the wine, after 2 to 3 days, the thick meat is pressed and the wine flows into oak barrels. It matures for at least 2 years in a medieval Tokaj tuff cellar. The higher the number of pilgrimages, the more extractive, the more powerful the selection, even with the increasing content of residual sugar from cibebas.

With the number of pilgrimages, the concentration of all aromatic, bouquet and all rare substances that perceive our senses also increases.
